Afterschool and Summer Programs

Helping students to develop intellectually and socially is the goal of Young Audiences After-School and Summer Programs, which are currently operating in twelve schools. Designed to seamlessly connect to the regular school day, these programs combine academics, arts and culture, and life skills to help children in underserved neighborhoods reach their fullest potential.

"Students participating in Young Audiences afterschool programs had an increased attendance rate of 50% and received 50% fewer disciplinary citations than a control group of their peers."

Afterschool & Summer Program Schools

Young Audiences of Louisiana and 21st Century Community Learning Centers provide critical opportunities for students to learn and explore their potential in a safe educational environment outside of normal school hours.

"Young Audiences has been a leader among the organizations receiving these highly competitive grants, and as such has been awarded three grants to serve twelve schools in the New Orleans area. The Louisiana Department of Education has been so pleased with their performance that we recommend other providers seek their advice on running high quality afterschool programs."
