This fall, Young Audiences of Louisiana returns with another series of Simply Arts Studio workshops to spark your child’s artistic curiosity. The arts are proven to promote cognitive and emotional development and with fewer in-person options available to students across the city, Simply Arts Studio may be the right option for your children.

YALA’s virtual studio art program is available to families across the Greater New Orleans Area and provides the opportunity to engage with a professional YALA teaching artist and grade-level peers in a small-group setting. It is designed to deepen arts knowledge while remaining engaging.

“Ms. Raegan gave us really fun activities and the freedom to get creative with them,” says eight-year-old Ruby.

Children from ages 5 - 13 years old can participate in weekly online workshops to gain fundamentals in dance, yoga, visual arts or drumming for as low as $15 per class. Teaching artists have experience working professionally in their art form, as well as in library workshops and classroom settings throughout the city and state. They will meet children at their comfort level and build upon their budding arts knowledge, whether children are just beginning or advanced.

“The dance technique definitely depends on the student,” says Teaching Artist Giselle Nakhid. “In my first session, a student was knowledgeable about ballet, so I tailored the class to her strengths.”

How will Simply Arts Studio work to your child’s strengths? We can’t wait to find out!

All Simply Arts Studio workshops are:

  • Instructed by experienced teaching artists

  • Based on grade level

  • Limited to eight students to ensure quality interaction

  • Three weeks weeks long

  • Available after school or Saturdays
