Over 95% of parents surveyed have expressed their complete satisfaction with the program. Despite this good news, only 13% of K-12 children in Louisiana participate in afterschool programs.
Young Audiences of Louisiana was founded in 1962 with the mission to inspire, empower, and connect children and communities through education, arts, and culture. Over the last 54 years the organization has grown from presenting school performances of chamber music to our current position as the state’s largest provider of arts-integrated and afterschool programs. In 2015 Young Audiences of Louisiana employed over 200 trained teaching artists and educators to provide afterschool programs for over 1,800 students free-of-charge in the Greater New Orleans area.
