Cartooning with Mike Artell

Award-winning children's author/illustrator and TV cartoonist shows kids how to create wonderful cartoons that will help them think more visually. Kids draw along as Mike shows them how to draw people, animals, objects, special effects and much more. The emphasis is on thinking funny and everyone leaves with three pages of original cartoons he/she has created. A great boost to kids' creative confidence with solid tie-ins to state educational standards.

About Mike Artell

Mike Artell is an award-winning children’s author/illustrator and TV cartoonist. He has written more than 35 books (most of which he has also illustrated) and he has created greeting cards, posters and editorial cartoons for some of the country’s most well-know publishing and media outlets. Mike’s book, PETITE ROUGE – A CAJUN RED RIDING HOOD was named the 2009 Read Aloud Book of the Year by the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Each year, Mike visits more than 50 schools across the U.S. and abroad where he shares his fresh, fun techniques for thinking, writing and drawing more creatively with K-8 students and their teachers.
