Virginia Hampton, Director of Marketing & Communications

Virginia is a retired English professor who recently relocated to New Orleans from Belize. As a writer, scholar, theater maker, and literary midwife, Virginia’s passion for the arts, education, and social change led her to co-found two arts spaces dedicated to these three essential components of life. At Artzmosphere and Out ch’YondA, she served as co-director for operations, marketing, and event coordination.

In her role at Young Audiences of Louisiana as Director of Marketing and Communications, her goal is to spread the word about YALA’s recent and overwhelming impact, through art enrichment and integration, on student outcomes and artist, community, and teacher engagement.
