Session 6: “All on Mardi Gras day”- Multiple Development Areas
Preschoolers can enjoy Mardi Gras year-round as they develop their cognitive and physical skills! Learn how to promote your child’s development by simply including them in and imaginary Mardi Gras day; from climbing a ladder to catch beads to putting on our costumes to playing instruments in the brass band at this week’s YALA ArtsPlay!™ workshop
Join us on Wednesday, December 4th at 10:30 AM at the Community Book Center on Bayou Road for this fifth in the pop up series, “Take Me Down to the Second Line”.
“Take Me Down to the Second Line” is designed for ages three to four years old, though younger and older children will also enjoy the workshop.
This series was developed by Young Audiences of Louisiana / Louisiana Wolf Trap Teaching Artist Ja’nese Brooks-Galathe in partnership with the New Orleans African American Museum. It is based on the traditional indigenous culture of New Orleans Second Line and Black Masking Indians.
The workshops are FREE and presented by The Helis Foundation, and you must register for each workshop to participate.
