In partnership with Friends of Lafitte Greenway, Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center, We Play Center and Hey Coffee Co.
This July 17th* join us for a *super* family arts event for the Treme/Lafitte neighborhood. Our morning will be filled with arts education activities to engage children and inspire caregivers, including an Ella Jenkins Sing-a-long to celebrate the "First Lady of Children's Music", visual arts activities for older children, and a YALA Artsplay! Workshop on the Greenway. YALA Artsplay! workshops allow young children to explore, observe and investigate their world through song, dance and movement experiences. Professional teaching artists will lead children and caregivers in art strategies to promote childhood development.
Families will receive an Artsplay! Gift Bag, plus snacks and a free book for each child, as long as supplies last. All attendees can enjoy cold brew coffee and lemonade, donated by Hey Coffee Co. and red velvet cake, catered by Adrian's Bakery.
Please note: This event was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 19th, but has been postponed until Saturday, July 17th due to severe weather. Stay safe and we will see you in July!
