A musical adventure based on the book, "The Rainbow Fish," by Marcus Pfister. Through creative storytelling, children will have an arts experience which will include movement and song.

Artform: Music

Teaching Artist: Joel Wilson

Overview: Children will be greeted by a hello song and a movement warm-up. Then we will sing many interactive songs using several different instruments. Afterward, we will enter the world of the Rainbow Fish using movement and music. Finally, we will conclude with a goodbye song.

Young Audiences of Louisiana’s Super Summer community events are interactive arts education experiences designed to promote literacy and connect with children, infant to age 8, because we believe that arts education is super. In fact, it is so super that it creates endless opportunities for child development. With arts education, the future is bright 😎

At Super Summer, we take some of our most popular workshops and merge them into one morning of fun. All activities are led by professional teaching artists who have been trained in child development and have years of experience crafting active learning experiences through the arts.

Join us for an engaging morning singalong, an interactive workshop experience, and a visual arts craft that children can make and take home with them. All children will receive a free book, a snack, an activity packet, crayons, and a surprise special gift. For parents who need a morning boost, coffee will be provided by HEY! Coffee Co.

The artist will share the book and use puppets and manipulatives to enliven the experience, The original yoga story will follow, written by the artist and using several basic yoga poses that are adapted for children to experience with safety and fun, No special equipment will be needed; children are encouraged to wear clothing that is easy to move in.
