Young Audiences of Louisiana (YALA) will continue to provide live arts education workshops to families via Zoom. YALA’s latest Baby Artsplay! at Home series, “Little Helpers”, begins on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.

Each workshop experience will be led by Young Audiences of Louisiana and Louisiana Wolf Trap Teaching Artist Dana Leon. "Little Helpers" allows for a playful introduction to key areas of childhood development, including motor skills, language and motor skills. While workshops are designed to promote childhood development and expand caregiver knowledge through the use of the performing arts, YALA’s Baby Artsplay! workshop will also give families the opportunity to explore visual art with their children.

In this series, YALA has partnered with Newcomb Art Museum. The Newcomb Art Museum of Tulane University builds on the Newcomb College legacy of education, social enterprise, and artistic experience. Presenting inspiring exhibitions and programs that engage communities both on and off campus, the Museum fosters the creative exchange of ideas and cross-disciplinary collaborations around innovative art and design. The Museum preserves and advances scholarship on the Newcomb and Tulane art collections. Newcomb has contributed one piece of artwork to share with each lesson. Thanks to the generous contribution of The Helis Foundation, workshops are free to the public.

In order to keep families safe, all sessions will take place virtually via Zoom. Participate from any location, whether on a laptop, tablet or a cell phone. Register today to receive a workshop link for all six workshops: http://www.ya4la.org/events.
