This Thursday, YALA Invites You to Shop for Good at a Kendra Scott Give-Back Event!

Join us on Thursday, July 13 from 4-6 pm, at Kendra Scott, Lakeside Mall for their Give-Back Event. If you mention YALA at the register, Kendra Scott will donate 20% of sales to us to support our Arts Education programs. People attending the in-store event will be treated to light sips and sweets and YALA giveaways, as well as a store full of delightful and innovative jewelry options. If you can’t come by, you can make purchases online during a 48 hour period using an online code (GIVEBACK-EJJZX)  from 12 am Thursday morning, July 13 to midnight on Friday, July 14. YALA will receive the same percentage of sales. 

This event is part of Kendra Scott’s formidable commitment to community engagement. Former local recipients of in-store givebacks have included PFLAG and the local chapter  of the Alzheimer's Association for the Longest Day, and pet shelters like, ARNO, JPAWS, LA-SPCA, as well as several the local middle and high schools.

Kendra Scott started the company in 2002 when the first of her three children was only three months old. On her website, Scott mentions that she has “always had a love of natural gemstones and noticed a white space in the jewelry market for quality styles and stones at an affordable price. So I decided to create them myself.”Now, Kendra Scott has over 100 stores in 36 states, though their design studio is in Austin, Texas. Pieces are created from “natural materials including genuine stone and shell.” The company pushes “the boundaries of design and innovation” as well as philanthropy, donating a portion of annual sales “to support women and youth in the areas of health and wellness, education and entrepreneurship.” Scott herself is the author of Born to Shine, a memoir and national bestseller.
