After a 6-Month Hiatus, YALA's Seasonal Newsletter is Back!
This summer’s newsletter is a quick read. We’ve included a cool article about summer learning and ways to make sure children enjoy their summer and that they don’t experience learning loss. YALA’s arts integration mission serves all learners as well as their caregivers and educators.
Summer means YALA and our partners have a variety of great arts-integrated summer activities for families of kids who attend school and for homeschooling families. These events include activities for early learners and elementary school age learners and are located around the city.
For children ages 6 months to 5 years and their caregivers, there’s a Baby Artsplay!™ series at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. Early learners can also enjoy YALA’s partnership with the New Orleans Public Library system and relax in the coolness for a series of arts-integrated storytime workshops.
For children of all ages there are two more upcoming Super Summer community events at Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center in Treme/Lafitte, and Uptown at the Children’s Hospital. Both these events feature art and fun for families with performances, interactive workshops and refreshments.
Future articles will be included here in the News Center, as well as on our soon to be updated LinkedIn page. Be on the lookout for a story in the Fall newsletter about early learners, and in the Winter edition we’ll look at the recent rise of homeschool education.
